Charitable Organization Celebrity Bartender Lottery

The Jackson County Fair is seeking 3 charitable organizations to cover bartending shifts at the fair.

Charitable organizations will be chosen via a lottery. To enter the lottery, the charitable organization must agree to supply a minimum of 5 adults and be able to work any of the 3 shifts listed below. During the fair, the Celebrity Bartenders will report to our Beverage Managers, Kay Weikel and Shelly Jessop. The deadline for the lottery is July 1st and this application can be emailed to jackson.county.fair1@gmail.com. The lottery to choose the charitable organizations will take place at the beginning of the July 8th Ag Society meeting. Charitable organizations picked to serve as Celebrity Bartenders in the Beer Garden will be notified immediately following the July 8th meeting that their organization has been chosen.

Work Shifts:

  • Friday: 8 p.m. – 12 a.m.
  • Saturday 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Saturday 8 p.m. – 12 a.m.

COMPENSATION

Chosen organizations will be compensated $400 at the completion of their shift.

Job: 2021 Jackson County Fair Summer Internship

The Jackson County Ag Society is seeking an energetic and positive individual who would like to learn all aspects of running our county fair this summer. As the fair intern, you will be cross-trained by board members and learn the “behind the scenes” of running a fair. This is an educational opportunity and “hands-on” position; from learning about Martech’s Blue Ribbon Fair computer software and our premium book, working with exhibitors, fair volunteers and staff, setting up advertising, working with the grounds crew, pre-fair set up and post-fair taken down, and do fair end reports and print premium checks. Other activities may include assisting with special fair-related projects. You will also be invited to attend Fair Board meetings.

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be available on a flexible schedule from June 24th through mid-August of this fair year. You MUST be available the entire week of and after the Jackson County Fair. Must hold a valid driver’s license and have a reliable vehicle. (Applicants who plan on exhibiting at our fair this year will not be able to do both, this internship and exhibit, as you will be kept very busy during the fair.) References and Fair Experience are a plus! Personal interviews may be set up after the closing of the applications. Successful candidate will:

  • Be great at customer service, ability to deal with different personalities, and be able to handle stressful situations.
  • Be organized, diligent, prompt, confident, and responsive.
  • Be proficient in computer skills and basic office programs.
  • Enter all fair entries into Blue Ribbon, answer telephones and fair related questions.
  • Work with fair volunteers, staff, and the Fair Board
  • Experience in graphic design and social media is a plus.
  • Be provided a camping site if selected applicant has a camper.

Job: Social Media Intern

The Jackson County Ag Society (Jackson County Fair) is seeking a self-motivated, responsible, and trustworthy social media intern to help manage the Fair’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages prior and during the week of the Jackson County Fair. The selected individual will zig-zag across the fairgrounds taking pictures of various judging events, grandstand events, doing Facebook and YouTube lives of events & other activities; then posting those items to drive up social media traffic during the fair.

REQUIRMENTS:

  • Must have reliable transportation to get to fair
  • Must have valid drivers license
  • Have a positive and welcoming attitude
  • Be prompt, on-time, and stay on schedule
  • Be available everyday July 24th – August 1st
  • 10-14 hour work days during the fair (July 28th-Aug 1st)
  • Experienced in Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Live
  • Have a cell phone, with data and a quality camera
  • NOT an exhibitor at the fair
  • Will work directly with Steve Boe & Kaitlyn Huber in developing a schedule of social media posts
  • Provide all photos taken during fair to Steve Boe for future promotions
  • Be incredibly responsible and trustworthy, as you will have access to all the Fair’s social media accounts

COMPENSATION

The selected individual will be provided fair t-shirts, season pass, preferred parking, and receive a stipend of $800 minus required taxes and deductions.
